Let’s begin by saying, congratulations! You’re getting married! And if you’re looking for wedding venues in The Southern Highlands, I bet you’re at the very start of your wedding planning journey, what an exciting time! Booking your venue is the very first step most couples take when organising their big day, as it affects so many other elements that need to be organised. As Southern Highlands wedding videographers, I have had the pleasure of capturing many weddings in The Southern Highlands, and I can tell you that you’ve chosen a wonderful place to say ‘I Do’.
When you start to research venues, it can soon feel a little overwhelming. Well, today, I thought I would share my 15 favourite wedding venues in The Southern Highlands, a shortlist of stunning locations that you should definitely book a viewing of.

In between Sydney and Canberra, The Southern Highlands is a uniquely beautiful region within New South Wales. A charming collection of small towns and villages are situated within its borders, each with its own personality and style.
How Much Do Weddings Cost in The Southern Highlands?
Cost is often down to the wants and needs of the couple, but on average wedding venues in The Southern Highlands would charge upward of $150 per head. During peak season (October-March), the venues would require a minimum spend of $20,000. But, if you’re looking for a bargain or hoping to miss the Australian summer and don’t mind tying the knot out of season, venues will often have special deals on winter weddings.
What is the Accommodation Like in the Area?
In the towns of Bowral, Mittagong, Berrima, Bundanoon, Robertson and Moss Vale there are plenty of pretty hotels, motels, B&B’s and Air BNB’s available. With so many options in the surrounding towns, your out-of-town wedding guests will be spoilt for choice!
What is the Weather Like on Average?
If you’re dreaming of an outdoor wedding in the sun, the very warmest months in The Southern Highlands are January, February and December. As a wedding videographer in New South Wales, I’ve experienced this first-hand with Summer in The Southern Highlands being cooler than the South Coast (average temperatures from 15 to the mid-20s Celsius) often up to 10 degrees cooler. It even snows occasionally (imagine those wedding images) with Winter temperatures typically in the high teens down to freezing.

This magnificent wedding venue in Berrina, The Southern Highlands, is as spectacular as it is luxurious. Bendooley Estate is set within 200 acres of land that has been meticulously preserved and cared for. A huge yet strangely cosy space, this room is lined with thousands of books (hence the name!) and lit by gorgeously delicate statement chandeliers that hang from the cathedral high ceiling. Wildwood Kangaroo Valley
A country paradise, set within 100 acres of pristine Australian rainforest. If you’re looking for a dream wedding photo opportunity, the Kangaroo Valley has to be on your shortlist! This stunning venue offers three ceremony options, The old shed (wet weather option), Ceremony rock and the Summer house chapel with each location gifting you an equally magical setting to say ‘I Do’.
